NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD GROOMING AND INDECENT IMAGES
Jo McCauley, a 53-year-old prolific offender from Nottingham, was involved in a disturbing online grooming case where he used a decoy Facebook profile named 'Brooke' to communicate with a teenage girl.
He asked the girl to keep their conversations secret and sent her inappropriate sexual videos.
The Nottingham Crown Court heard how McCauley's interactions with the girl escalated to sending and requesting sexually explicit images.
Unbeknownst to him, the girl was part of a paedophile hunter group that informed the police.
The police arrested McCauley, and on his device, they found indecent images of children, including one of a girl aged nine to eleven being raped.
McCauley pleaded guilty to attempting to engage a child in sexual communication, causing a child to see a sexual image, and making indecent images of children.
The judge sentenced him to two years and eight months in prison and ordered him to register as a sex offender for life.
The court emphasized the serious nature of his crimes and his extensive criminal record, which includes 25 previous convictions for 59 offences, highlighting his longstanding sexual interest in young girls.
