NORTHAMPTON MAN GUILTY OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES

Jason Yongblah, a man previously residing in Weedon Close, Northampton, has been found guilty of multiple child sex offences, including rape. The crimes began when he started abusing a girl at the age of 12. The offenses escalated from inappropriate touching to repeated sexual assaults and rape. Yongblah also sent the girl numerous inappropriate text messages. The case came to light after a relative saw some of these messages by chance, leading to police contact. Yongblah was subsequently arrested and charged with a series of serious offences, including rape of a child under 13, attempted rape, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexually assaulting a child under 13, sexual penetration of a child under 13, taking indecent photographs of a child, sexual communication with a child, and making indecent images of a child. He pleaded guilty to some charges but not all, with a trial set for October. During the trial, Yongblah denied some of the evidence, resulting in him being subjected to forensic comparison. On October 7th, a jury unanimously convicted him of all charges. He is scheduled for sentencing on November 29th. Detective Constable Kirstie Brooks expressed her satisfaction at the verdict, thanking the brave girl and her family for coming forward, and emphasizing the dangerous nature of Yongblah's actions and their commitment to keeping such offenders behind bars. Lead investigator – Detective Constable Kirstie Brooks, said: “I am so pleased that Jason Yongblah has been found guilty of all charges and I want to thank the incredibly brave girl in this case, and her family, for coming forward and helping us put this predatory man behind bars. ”“Having to give evidence at a rape trial is something no one should have to do, let alone when you’re a child. The courage this girl has shown has been staggering and I am so glad that her courage has resulted in her abuser being found guilty. ”“This has been a complex case to investigate and deal with at court but all the hard work is so worth it when the offender is found guilty and you know they will now spend a significant amount of time in prison. ”“We will continue working hard to put more people like Jason Yongblah where they belong – behind bars.”
