April 2019 Flintshire health manager with “grossly distorted views of children” jailed for a year A senior NHS manager from Flintshire has been jailed for a year after child torture and rape images were found on his phone and computer. Jason Weall used a work computer to read stories about child abuse and murder which alerted his colleagues who called in the police. Officers examined his devices where they found nearly 200 illegal images of children including two of an infant aged between eight and 12 months. Judge Niclas Parry told Weall it was a worrying case as he was clearly an individual with “grossly distorted views of children”. “I shudder to think how your sexual offending will develop,” said the judge. Mold Crown Court was told how Weall was caught reading material about the rape, torture and murder of children using a work computer. When concerns were raised police were called in and found the illegal images, which included one film, on a phone and computer. Included were some graded as the worse, which showed the rape or torture of children It was clear that data had also been removed and cleaning software used. Weall also told to police he had taken computers to a skip to depose of them. Weall, 46, of Holway Court, Holywell, admitted making indecent images of children, possession of prohibited images and possession of extreme pornography between October 2009 and July 2018. Judge Parry said the aggravating features were the youth of the children and years over which the offending took place. He accepted that Weall was “truly remorseful” but jailed him in “view of the extreme age and vulnerability of two of the children”. Weall, who has held senior NHS roles at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust and the Welsh Ambulance Service, was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a year and told to register as a sex offender for 10 years. April 2019 Flintshire man admits possessing indecent images A man charged with possessing indecent images of children has pleaded guilty. He admitted possessing 15 category A images, the most serious, together with nine at category B and 171 at category C between 2013 and 2018. Weall is further charged with possessing one extreme image involving humans and animals and one prohibited image of a child. Judge Rhys Rowlands rebailed him pending sentence on April 30. He was ordered to register with the police as a sex offender.
