IPSWICH SEX OFFENDER FINED FOR FAILING TO DECLARE LIVING WITH CHILD
An Ipswich man on the sex offenders register has been fined after failing to declare that he was living with a child.Jason Totham, of Dryden Road, failed to notify the authorities within three days that he was living with a child on November 24 last year.
By failing to do this Totham, 56, breached part 2 of the 2003 Sexual Offences Act that requires those on the sex offenders register to declare such living arrangements within three days.
Totham appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
Although his plea was taken into account by the court, Totham was fined £200 - as well as being told to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
Additionally, the court also imposed a community order to be supervised by Suffolk Magistrates' Court which will run until April 2, 2026.
Under the conditions of the order, Totham will have to comply with instructions from the relevant responsible officer including attending appointments and participating in any activity required by the officer for a maximum of 15 days.
