COLCHESTER DOG-SITTER JAILED OVER CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A convicted sex offender against minors has received a five-year prison sentence after violating a court order and committing further online offenses.Lee Arthurs, aged 41, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on June 5 after admitting multiple charges related to child sex offenses and breaking a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Residing on Silk Street in Ipswich, Arthurs was detained in Colchester in March while dog-sitting for family members in Essex.
Detective Sergeant Gavin Tuck from Essex Police stated: "Arthurs demonstrated a complete disregard for the law and resumed offending after his release from prison.
His heinous crimes were uncovered by specialist teams, leading to his arrest." During his time in Colchester, Arthurs accessed online chat platforms and attempted to communicate sexually with children.
Investigations into his devices uncovered additional inappropriate chats and indecent images of minors.
He faced charges for three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, three counts of possessing indecent images of children, and four violations of his SHPO.
As a result, he was immediately sent back to prison for breaching the order.
In April, Arthurs pleaded guilty to all charges at Chelmsford Crown Court.
