SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR JOINING LIVE STREAM TO WATCH CHILD ABUSE
A depraved child sex offender believed he was witnessing a child being abused during a live video call and expressed his intention to travel to Kent to carry out abuse himself.Jason Taylor, aged 38, residing on Pengover Road in Liskeard, appeared before Truro Crown Court on Tuesday, 30 June, for sentencing after admitting multiple charges including possession and distribution of indecent images of children, planning and facilitating a child sex offence, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was sentenced to five years in prison and placed under a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court was informed that on 20 April 2026, Devon & Cornwall Police received a tip-off indicating that Taylor had been communicating with an undercover online operative.
During this interaction, Taylor confided his sexual attraction to minors.
The undercover agent claimed to have access to a nine-year-old niece, leading Taylor to express his desire to abuse her.
Subsequently, Taylor revealed his willingness to drive to Kent during school holidays to commit the offence.
Taylor then sent images of child abuse to the operative, and it was arranged for a video call before any meeting, with plans for live abuse during the call.
At the scheduled time, Taylor joined the video call but kept most of his face hidden.
The participant indicated that the ‘girl’ would reconnect once her connection was restored.
Within minutes, officers from the Devon & Cornwall Police Paedophile Online Investigation Team raided Taylor’s property, arresting him in bed wearing only his underwear.
The room where Taylor was detained matched the one seen on the video call, confirming his identity and presence at the scene.
