MAN JAILED FOR SEX OFFENDING AGAINST YOUNG GIRL
A man from Brighton, Jason Lineker, aged 34 and residing on Mouslecoomb Way, has received a five-and-a-half-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 over six years ago.Lineker was found guilty unanimously by a jury at Lewes Crown Court on 27 August following a five-day trial that featured testimonies from witnesses and the victim herself.
On Friday, 3 September, he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, with an additional one year on extended licence.
He will be registered as a sex offender for life and has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which remains in place until further court notice, significantly limiting his access to children.
This trial followed a retrial after a previous jury could not reach a verdict in November of the previous year.
