JANUSK SLAZAK FROM NORTHAMPTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In July 2017, a Northampton man named Janusk Slazak was sentenced to a community order following his guilty pleas to six counts of making indecent images of children.
The 55-year-old, residing on Main Road off Towcester Road in Far Cotton, was found to have downloaded child abuse images from the darkest corners of the internet.
Police investigations uncovered nearly 180 abusive or indecent images across Slazak's devices, with 46 classified as category-A, the most severe grading possible.
His Honour Judge Timothy Smith stated, “You were accessing this material for your own sexual gratification.
That is what you were dredging up from the darkest corners of the internet.” Slazak was arrested at his home in April 2014, with police seizing a laptop, a tower computer, a tablet, and a hard drive.
It emerged that he had been actively searching for and downloading such images from March 2008 to March 2014.
In court, Judge Smith noted, “It is clear from your computers that for a long period of time you were undertaking searches for child abuse images.
This is something that you have had difficulty acknowledging.
There is some hope of rehabilitation when the offender recognises what they did to be wrong.” He was sentenced to a 24-month community order, a 50-day rehabilitation order, and a two-month electronically monitored curfew.
Additionally, a sexual harm prevention order was imposed.
All devices belonging to Slazak were ordered to be destroyed.
