JANET ROBINSON GOSPORT PAEDOPHILE AND BESTIALITY IMAGE OFFENDER SENTENCED

Janet Robinson, a woman residing on Prideaux-Brune Avenue in Gosport, was convicted in 2016 of possessing a disturbing collection of child abuse and bestiality images, as well as sharing her twisted fantasies with a paedophile rape gang. The police launched a raid on her home after discovering incriminating chat logs on the computers used by the gang, which had already been jailed for their crimes.

During her court appearance, a judge was informed of the extent of Robinson’s disturbing collection, which included a video depicting bestiality involving a girl estimated to be between 12 and 13 years old. The court heard that Robinson, who had been publicly shunned by her community following her admission of guilt last month, engaged in conversations with men via Skype and Yahoo Messenger, discussing her depraved interests.

It was emphasized that there was no evidence to suggest Robinson herself had physically abused any children. She was pictured during her court appearance, appearing visibly remorseful. The court was told that Robinson had fully cooperated with police when arrested, even confessing to having performed a sex act with a dog in the past.

Judge Ian Pearson addressed the court, stating, "This was a sick fantasy of yours. You derived sexual gratification from the images and the conversations you had with the male individuals you discussed these matters with, rather than from the images themselves."

Hannah Duncan, representing Robinson, explained that her client had no prior criminal record and was overwhelmed with remorse, describing her feelings of nausea. Duncan also noted that Robinson had lost her job, was barred from returning to a fitness group she attended, and that a Facebook page had been created to highlight her crimes, further damaging her reputation.

Robinson pleaded guilty to 14 charges of possessing indecent images and one charge of possessing extreme pornography. She was also charged with engaging in intercourse with a dog but pleaded not guilty to that charge, which the court accepted due to insufficient evidence.

In sentencing, Robinson received a 16-month suspended prison term for the child image offences, along with a four-month concurrent sentence for the bestiality-related charge, also suspended for two years. She was ordered to complete 50 days of rehabilitation activities, pay costs of £350, and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of 10 years. Additionally, she was banned from having contact with children under 16 and from owning a dog until June 2026, effectively for 10 years.

This case highlights the disturbing nature of online child exploitation and animal abuse, and the serious legal consequences faced by those involved in such heinous activities in Gosport.
