AYR ARMY VETERAN ADMITS FILMING EX IN SHOWER AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR
Ayrshire army veteran Jamie Porter admitted to engaging in a course of behaviour that was abusive to his ex-partner over a period of more than two and a half years.
The court heard that Porter monitored the woman’s movements through repeated phone calls and messages, inferring her whereabouts at various locations including Ayr, Prestwick, and his residence in Mossblown.
He accused her of infidelity multiple times and made offensive remarks both in person and via digital communication.
Notably, he recorded her without her knowledge while she was showering and sent her the footage, which was regarded as highly abusive.
The police contacted Porter after he sent the video, and he cooperated with authorities, making no contestation when formally charged.
In court, Sheriff Shirley Foran sentenced him to a community payback order for two years with social work supervision and required him to participate in the Caledonia Programme for addressing domestic offending.
Additionally, Porter was given a two-year non-harassment order banning contact with his ex-partner.
