JAMES RAISTRICK'S SHOCKING SEX OFFENSES IN IPSWICH LEAD TO PRISON SENTENCE
In a case that has shocked the community of Ipswich, James Raistrick, a 26-year-old factory worker, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison at Ipswich Crown Court after admitting to multiple serious sex offenses involving a minor. The court heard that Raistrick had engaged in sexual activities with a girl under the age of 16 on three separate occasions, and also incited her to participate in sexual acts, which constitutes a further charge.
His guilty plea to four counts of sexual misconduct underscores the gravity of his actions and the breach of trust involved.
Raistrick, who was formerly residing in Ipswich, was accused of grooming the young girl over a period of time before the sexual encounters took place.
The victim’s father, who has chosen to remain anonymous for legal reasons, expressed his outrage and heartbreak over the incident.
He revealed that Raistrick initially befriended him and his daughter through mutual acquaintances, but he was unaware of Raistrick’s true intentions.
The father stated, “He met her through a friend of a friend.
He was grooming her for some time.
All of a sudden he became very friendly with me and I couldn’t get rid of him.” The sexual relationship occurred during the school holidays in 2008, and it appears that Raistrick continued to maintain contact with the girl afterward.
The father described how Raistrick had manipulated his daughter into believing he loved her and was planning to leave his wife for her, which added to the emotional trauma inflicted upon her.
The impact of Raistrick’s abuse has been profound, with the girl’s father noting a significant change in her behaviour.
“My daughter went completely off the rails and was arguing with everybody,” he said.
“I would just like to rip his life to pieces.
I want to put him through the pain that he has put my family and his sister through.
He has taken away my daughter’s trust in men.” Additionally, the father shared that his own circumstances have been affected by the case.
He explained that his unemployment benefits had been stopped after he failed to attend a job interview near Raistrick’s workplace on the Farthing Road Industrial Estate.
Police officers had advised him to stay away from Raistrick for his own safety, but his absence from the interview has resulted in financial hardship, leaving him dependent solely on hardship benefits.
This case has not only brought to light the disturbing actions of James Raistrick but also highlighted the emotional and social toll on the victim’s family and the wider community of Ipswich.
