JAMES MILNER AND AMANDA MAY SHOCKING SEX OFFENSES IN CROWDON, SHEPPEY, AND WOOLWICH

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the communities of Croydon, Sheppey, and Woolwich, a 69-year-old man named James Milner has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for heinous sexual offenses involving a young girl. The conviction follows a series of criminal acts that included the filming and distribution of abusive material, as well as direct sexual abuse of a minor.

Police authorities executed a raid on Milner’s caravan located in Sheppey last year, uncovering multiple video recordings that depicted the abuse. Among these recordings was footage featuring Amanda May, a 34-year-old woman from Woolwich, who was also implicated in the crimes. The videos showed May actively participating in the abuse, with her smiling towards the camera and awaiting instructions from Milner, as noted by prosecutor Jennifer Knight.

The court proceedings revealed that Milner had engaged in manipulative and predatory behavior, asking the young girl if she wanted to be a model. The abuse escalated on a boat in Rochester, where Milner directed the girl to pose in various explicit positions, including with ties draped across her body. He paid her between ten and thirty pounds for her participation. The footage also captured Milner, who was naked, looking directly into the camera while molesting the girl.

Milner, who resides in Croydon, South London, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including eight counts of sexual assault, seven counts of creating indecent photographs, six counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, four counts of engaging in sexual acts in the presence of a child, two counts of oral rape, two counts of sexual activity with a child, and one count of failing to comply with notification requirements. These offenses spanned from November 2004 to April 2006.

May, who was initially in denial about her relationship with Milner, later admitted to charges that included sexual assault and perverting the course of justice. Her sentencing resulted in a three-and-a-half-year prison term. During the trial, it was shown that May had been involved in sexual acts with Milner, as well as participating in the abuse of the young girl, which was captured on video.

Throughout the court proceedings, Milner, who is visually impaired in one eye and suffers from arthritis, sat with his head bowed, displaying a demeanor of remorse or resignation. Both Milner and May were subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, and their names will be entered onto the sex offenders’ register. Notably, the court did not have them appear together in the dock; instead, the prosecution presented their cases separately, and sentences were handed down independently, emphasizing the severity and distinctiveness of each individual's crimes.
