BRADFORD MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR KILLING EX-GIRLFRIEND JADE WATSON
At 25 years old, James Gray was handed a life imprisonment sentence for the murder of Jade Watson, his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend.
The fatal assault occurred in a caravan at the rear of his mother’s house in Bradford.
According to court testimony, Gray strangled Jade and then struck her head using a bike lock during a confrontation that followed her revealing she had begun a new relationship with Chris Gill.
Gray admitted to losing his temper during the incident.
His mother, Deborah Bairstow, recounted that she saw Jade on the ground soon after the attack and attempted to revive her by shaking her, but there was no response.
The judge described Jade as a lively and well-loved young woman, and her family expressed their grief, stating that justice has been achieved but the loss of Jade cannot be compensated or justified.
Gray confessed to police that he was responsible for Jade’s death and appeared terrified after the event.
The court sentenced him to life with a minimum of 15 years imprisonment, stressing that his actions resulted in the unnecessary and premature death of Jade, causing immense suffering to her children, family, and friends.
