JAMES ANDREW SENTENCED IN HULL FOR DISTURBING SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL
James Andrew was branded a 'monster' after perpetrating predatory sexual acts against a young girl, leaving her with lasting trauma. During his trial at Hull Crown Court, it was disclosed that Andrew, 39, exploited the victim and attempted to blame social media platforms like TikTok and the internet for her understanding of sexual topics. The offenses took place in October 2019. Despite denying four charges—three counts of sexual assault and one of assault by penetration—a jury convicted him. Judge Mark Bury detailed how Andrew fondled and kissed the girl intimately on two separate occasions, exposed himself, and instructed her to touch him. After the incidents, Andrew purportedly apologized, saying he shouldn't have acted that way. However, the girl remained silent about the abuse for an entire year, while Andrew consistently denied wrongdoing and deflected responsibility. The judge emphasized the severity of the impact, stating, 'It's impossible to tell what harm this is going to do to her. What you did has long-lasting and very real implications. You told her to keep it a secret.' A woman familiar with the victim spoke about the profound psychological scars, noting that Andrew had severely damaged the girl’s innocence and her ability to trust. She said, 'He has taken her innocence and that's something you can never change. It's so hard to see the pain in her eyes every day.' She also added that the abuse had 'broken' both the girl and her loved ones. As a result of these harrowing findings, Andrew was sentenced to six years in prison and was placed under a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. Additionally, he must register as a sex offender for life, representing a significant step in seeking justice for the victim and serving as a stark warning to others.
