February 2017 Paedophile jailed after he befriended schoolboys and had sex chats with youngsters A paedophile who was re-housed in Derbyshire has been sent to prison for four years after he befriended schoolboys and had sex chats with youngsters in North America. Jake Green was “placed” in accommodation in the county after he was released from a six-year sentence imposed by at Sheffield Crown Court for having and distributing indecent images, two sexual assaults of a child and sexual activity with a boy under 13. But police searched Green’s home in Dig Street, Ashbourne, in June 2015, as part of an investigation into money laundering, and seized computers and phones. On these detectives discovered evidence that Green had befriended three schoolboys in Ashbourne on the internet. He was using the online username Dave Denial, and met up with them. The 28-year-old had also contacted three boys, between the ages of 11 and 14, in North America asking them to send indecent pictures of themselves and engage in sexual activity, Derby Crown Court was told. To one boy, over Skype, he played a video of a girl performing a sex act, pretending to be that girl, and incited the 14-year-old to do the same while he watched. Prosecutor Abi Joyce said Green had recorded the boy performing this sex act and then bragged about how he had duped him to another boy, to whom he then forwarded the video. Green also sent an 11-year-old boy a password to get on to Netflix and asked for “dirty, dirty pics” in return. In addition, police found more than 900 indecent images stored on his equipment, the court was told. Jailing Green, Judge Jonathan Bennett said: “You are a very troubling individual because you are still a young man and you come before me having appeared at courts on two occasions. Your first appearance was nearly nine years ago now. You were sent to custody for a lengthy period of time, so much so at your young age you got an extended sentence.” The second court appearance was in 2015 when he ewas made the subject of a three-year community order for making indecent images. The judge added: “I have the report of Dr Mendelsohn. He said you seemed to have suffered some kind of trauma in your psychosexual development which caused you to become so fixated on prepubescent boys.” He told Green that he must serve at least two-thirds of the four-year sentence and would not be released before four years unless the parole board considered it was safe for him to be so. He would then be on licence for a further two years. Green admitted breaching a Sex Offences Prevention Order by communicating with young boys, attempting to incite children to engage in sexual activity and possessing indecent images. He also pleaded guilty to transferring criminal property after he allowed the owners of an illegal film-sharing site to transfer money through a NatWest account that he opened up in Ashbourne. The court heard that between January and June 2015 almost £200,000 passed through his account.
