JACOB ADAIR FROM HAYDOCK SENTENCED FOR EXTREME PORN AND CHILD SEX OFFENSES
In August 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving Jacob Adair, a young man from Haydock, who was found to possess a horrifying collection of extreme pornography, including images involving a corpse.The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the material and the circumstances surrounding his offenses.
Adair, who was 21 years old at the time, had a troubling history of engaging with a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
He repeatedly urged her to send explicit photographs of herself, specifically requesting images of her breasts, in what prosecutors described as a sickening attempt to build a disturbing collection of illicit images.
The girl, who felt increasingly uncomfortable with his persistent requests, was subjected to a series of inappropriate communications that raised serious concerns about his intentions.
The police investigation was initiated after reports of his inappropriate conduct.
On December 3, 2015, law enforcement officers executed a raid on the residence he shared with his parents, located on Kenyon’s Lane South in Haydock.
During the search, officers seized various computer equipment and storage devices that contained a cache of illegal and highly disturbing images.
Adair admitted responsibility for downloading these images, which included some classified as Category A – the most severe level of illegal content involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
Among the illicit material recovered were photographs and videos depicting the rape and torture of minors, as well as images involving sexual interference with a corpse.
Prosecutor Ian Criddle highlighted the gravity of the material, stating, “One involved sexual interference with a corpse and one involved serious injury to genitals.” In total, the police found around 20 prohibited images and two extreme pornographic videos, all of which contributed to the severity of the case.
During police interviews, Adair acknowledged that he was aware the girl was only 15 years old when he was communicating with her.
He admitted to asking her to take explicit photographs and to inciting her to engage in sexual activity.
His admissions included two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of downloading indecent images of children.
Additionally, he confessed to possessing indecent images of children, prohibited images, and extreme pornography, all of which are criminal offenses.
Despite the serious nature of his crimes, Adair was not given a custodial sentence outright.
Instead, he appeared before Liverpool Crown Court, where Judge Aubrey sentenced him to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
The judge also ordered him to participate in a sexual offenders treatment program and mandated that he sign the Sex Offenders Register.
Furthermore, Adair was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a period of 10 years, aimed at monitoring and restricting his future conduct to protect the public from potential harm.
