JACK NEPEAN FROM HOLSWORTHY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS IN CRAWLEY AND DEVON

A man named Jack Nepean, who was found guilty of sexually abusing two young girls, has been formally sentenced to prison. The disturbing case came to light after Nepean, who was residing in Holsworthy at the time, committed heinous acts involving minors in different locations, including Crawley and Devon.

On New Year’s Eve, Nepean was responsible for the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl who was in his care in Crawley. The assault involved sexual penetration, a crime that shocked the local community and prompted a police investigation. The abuse was reported to authorities in early January 2023, leading to a thorough investigation by Sussex Police.

Further inquiries revealed that Nepean had also committed serious offenses in Devon, where he had previously resided. Investigators uncovered evidence of him abusing a five-year-old girl, as well as creating indecent images of her. The investigation extended to his mobile phone, which contained further evidence of his criminal activities, including three counts of voyeurism and possession of indecent images categorized as A, B, and C.

Nepean, aged 30, was brought before Hove Crown Court on September 11, where he faced sentencing. The court sentenced him to a total of 12 years in prison. It was also stipulated that he must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for parole. Additionally, the court imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his future access to children and electronic devices to prevent further harm.

During the proceedings, Nepean admitted to multiple charges, including sexual assault by penetration of a girl under 13, sexual assault by touching of a girl under 13, and making indecent images of a child. His actions, which spanned across different locations, have been met with widespread condemnation. The victims, who demonstrated remarkable bravery in coming forward and reporting their experiences, have been praised for their courage in facing such traumatic events.

Nepean, who was previously living in Devon, has now begun serving his prison sentence. The case highlights the importance of vigilance and the need for ongoing efforts to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse, especially by individuals who abuse positions of trust.
