He is a registered sex offender and is wanted for breaching his sex offender notification requirements. Waller has a tattoo on his arm of a scroll with the name Joanne. He has a West Country accent. He has connections in Staffordshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Devon, Cornwall, Kent and North Wales. March 2011 New picture released in hunt for Plymouth’s ‘most wanted’ sex offender INVESTIGATORS hunting one of Britain’s ‘most wanted’ paedophiles have issued a new photograph in the hope of tracing him. In 2009 Jason Waller – who was originally from Plymouth – was placed on the ‘Most Wanted’ website run by the UK’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) in conjunction with the charity Crimestoppers. He remains on the list of most wanted sex offenders and a new image has joined one that has been widely distributed. Waller, now 35, was convicted of indecent assaults in January 2000 on three children who were known to him. He was sentenced to a total of three years in prison. However, since 2006 he has slept rough or in a tent – breaching the Sex Offenders Register rules – at several locations around Devon, including Torquay, Brixham, Plymouth and Tavistock. After one breach in 2006 he told Exeter Crown Court he was living in a tent on Maidencombe beach at Watcombe, Torquay, but when police checked his ‘address’ he had disappeared. He was subsequently arrested for begging in Guildford and returned to Devon because he had been circulated as a wanted sex offender. However, since March 2009 he again failed to comply with requirements under the Sexual Offences Act by leaving his Plymouth accommodation without notifying police of his intention to change address. Prior to his last disappearance in 2009 police had said Waller was not considered a serious risk to the public and was last spotted in a churchyard in Tavistock. Waller is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, overweight with light brown, short receding hair. He has previously had a moustache and beard. He has a tattoo of a scroll with the name of ‘Joanne’ on his left arm and speaks with a West country accent. He has used a number of aliases, including Jason Collins, John Collins, Jason Elton Waller and Jason Elton John Waller. It is believed he may have connections with other parts of the UK including south Yorkshire, the North East, Manchester and even Spain. In 2009 senior officers at Devon and Cornwall police said that by going missing “the risk that Waller poses to children has increased”.
