JACK LANCASTER FROM LEEDS ESCAPES JAIL AFTER REPEATED CHILD SEX OFFENDER OFFENSES

In September 2020, a disturbing case emerged involving Jack Lancaster, a known child sex offender from Leeds, who narrowly avoided imprisonment despite being caught engaging in illegal activities related to indecent images of children for the second time.

Lancaster, who was already under strict legal restrictions, was found to have accessed and downloaded four indecent images depicting children being abused, breaching the terms of a sexual harm prevention order previously imposed on him.

At just 23 years old, Lancaster faced the court after pleading guilty to two counts of making indecent images of children and one count of breaching his sexual harm prevention order.

His criminal history includes a prior conviction in 2015, when he was sentenced to a suspended prison term after downloading over 1,000 indecent images of children.

During that earlier case, he also befriended a 12-year-old girl on Facebook, persuading her to send semi-naked photographs of herself, with one photo showing her writing 'I love Jack' on her stomach.

The Leeds Crown Court heard that on June 5, 2018, West Yorkshire Police were alerted by Kik Messenger that an account associated with Lancaster’s email address had uploaded an indecent image of a child to their server.

This prompted a police investigation, leading to a search warrant executed at Lancaster’s residence on Penda’s Way in Cross Gates, where he lives with his mother and teenage sister.

During the search, officers seized two mobile phones and a computer tower.

Although the phone believed to have uploaded the offending image was damaged during examination, investigators recovered three Category A images of children being abused from the other phone.

Additionally, a Category B image had been deleted from the device, which was a clear violation of Lancaster’s existing sexual harm prevention order.

Further investigation revealed that Lancaster had actively searched the internet using terms such as ‘six-year-old’ and ‘pre-teen hardcore’ to find such illicit images.

His criminal activities date back to 2013, when he was only 16 years old, involving the downloading and sharing of indecent images and encouraging a child to engage in sexual activities.

During police interviews, Lancaster admitted to downloading images from sharing platforms and uploading them for others to view.

In court, Lancaster was sentenced to a 16-month prison term, suspended for two years.

The court also mandated that he complete the Horizon programme and undertake 30 days of rehabilitation activities.

He was placed on the sex offender register for ten years and subject to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.

Judge Mushtaq Khokhar described Lancaster as a ‘loner’ with a ‘perversion,’ emphasizing the seriousness of his offences.

The judge stated, “On the last occasion, it would have been abundantly clear that the court regards these offences as serious.

Maybe you still did not understand because if you had, you would not be there.

Your accessing these images on the internet only encourages those responsible for creating such images using young children for abuse.” He concluded with a stern warning: “This is your last chance of staying out of prison,” underscoring the gravity of Lancaster’s repeated violations and the importance of legal and moral boundaries in protecting children from exploitation.
