In a disturbing case that spans over two decades, Ivan Russell, a 42-year-old magician from Northamptonshire, has been sentenced to six years in prison for a series of heinous child abuse offenses.

Russell's criminal activities included targeting vulnerable children and families in the towns of Daventry and Great Yarmouth, where he worked as an entertainer at a holiday camp.

His crimes came to light after a thorough investigation, culminating in his conviction at Northampton Crown Court last month.

Russell was found guilty of 15 separate charges of sexual assault, all involving children aged between eight and 15 years old.

The offenses were committed not only in Daventry but also extended to Lancashire and the seaside town of Great Yarmouth, highlighting the widespread nature of his predatory behavior.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Rupert Mayo did not hold back in describing Russell’s actions.

He labeled him a “dangerous predatory paedophile,” emphasizing the serious threat he posed to the community.

The court sentenced Russell to six years in prison, but his punishment does not end there.

An extended license period of four years was also imposed, meaning that upon release, Russell will remain under supervision for an additional four years.

This extended period is designed to monitor his behavior and prevent any further offenses.

Furthermore, Russell will be required to remain on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions.
