IOAN MOISE FROM NORTHAMPTON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the Northampton community, Ioan Christian Moise, a 29-year-old man from Northampton, has been sentenced to nearly eight years in prison for a series of serious sexual offences involving a 14-year-old girl.The incident took place in January 2021, during which Moise spent several days with the young girl at a hotel in Northampton, engaging in grooming behaviors and committing multiple sexual assaults.
Details of the case emerged after the victim’s family expressed their concerns, prompting an investigation by Northamptonshire Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Thanks to diligent detective work, Moise was swiftly identified and arrested on January 17, 2021.
Following his arrest, he was charged with twelve separate offences related to grooming and sexual assault and was remanded into custody without bail.
Earlier this year, during a court hearing at Northampton Crown Court, Moise pleaded guilty to all twelve charges.
The court proceedings revealed that he had spent several days with the girl at a hotel, during which he engaged in inappropriate and criminal sexual conduct.
The judge, acknowledging the severity of the offences, handed down a sentence of seven years and ten months in prison.
Additionally, Moise was subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which aims to protect the victim from further harm.
A restraining order was also issued against Moise, prohibiting him from contacting the girl until she reaches the age of 18.
Furthermore, the court imposed measures to ensure ongoing protection for the victim, reflecting the seriousness of the crimes committed.
