BRADFORD'S IMRAN KHALIQ ON THE RUN AFTER CONVICTION FOR RAPE IN BRADFORD
In March 2018, authorities issued a serious warning to the public regarding a man from Bradford who is currently evading law enforcement after being convicted of a grave sexual offence.Imran Khaliq, aged 38, was found guilty at Bradford Crown Court last month of raping a 17-year-old girl during the previous year.
Despite the conviction, Khaliq failed to attend the court for the announcement of the verdict, prompting the issuance of a warrant for his immediate arrest.
Law enforcement agencies have conducted extensive investigations in an effort to locate him.
The police are now appealing directly to the community for assistance in their search.
Khaliq is described as an Asian male with a slim build, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall.
It is also noted that he has connections to the Greater Manchester area, which could be relevant to his whereabouts.
Detective Chief Inspector Paula Bickerdike, representing Bradford District Police, emphasized the importance of public cooperation.
She stated, “We are appealing to the public to help us trace Khaliq, who is due to be sentenced in his absence later this year.
It is important that he faces justice for this serious offence and enquiries to trace him are ongoing.” Authorities stress that Khaliq remains at large and warn the public not to approach him if encountered, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the police immediately.
