IPSWICH MAN JAILED FOR CHASE, ASSAULT, AND SELF-EXPOSING CRIMES
A man who chased women while masturbating has been sentenced to over three years in jail.Six women came forward to report the offender, Igor Ikoniak, who appeared in Ipswich Crown Court.
He targeted women between October 2024 and February 2025 on a footpath beneath Yarmouth Road, Ipswich.
One woman, who was pregnant at the time, asked if he was alright when she noticed him following her, only to realize he was exposing his penis and masturbating.
She shouted at him, threatened to hit him with a bag of potatoes, and he continued to approach her.
Ikoniak then grabbed another woman by the arm while masturbating and also grabbed the strap of her backpack when she struggled.
Another victim saw him peeking at her and staring while masturbating and slapped her bottom when she attempted to pass.
He chased a different woman while touching himself and only left her alone when she pretended to make a call.
The last woman in court managed to photograph him with his face uncovered, which led to his identification.
The court heard that Ikoniak had previously activated a suspended sentence order related to similar offences.
In March 2024, he was sentenced to 16 months suspended for two years for targeting three 15-year-old girls, touching two of them sexually and attempting to do so to the third.
His most recent actions resulted in his imprisonment for a total of 40 months, including the new sentence and the suspended one.
Judge Wilson described him as 'the definition of a very dangerous young man without any degree of empathy,' and banned him from entering Ipswich again, also placing him on the sex offenders register for life.
