HOSSEIN SABOURIAN FROM BLACKBURN SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX AND DRUG CHARGES
In December 2009, a disturbing case unfolded involving Hossein Sabourian, a 52-year-old chef residing in Blackburn, who was ultimately sentenced to eight years in prison for serious criminal offenses. The charges against Sabourian included engaging in sexual activities with a minor and the illegal supply of drugs, actions that have shocked the local community and prompted a thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities.Sabourian, who lives on Tintagel Close off Preston Old Road in Blackburn, was taken into custody in July following a comprehensive investigation conducted by Lancashire police’s child exploitation unit, known as ‘Operation Cherish’. The investigation was initiated after authorities received a complaint concerning Sabourian’s conduct involving a 15-year-old girl, which raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of minors in the area.
It was revealed that Sabourian is the owner and operator of the ‘MI CASA’ takeaway restaurant located on Chorley Road in Walton-le-Dale. The restaurant, which is a well-known local establishment, became a focal point in the investigation, although the charges against Sabourian extended beyond his business activities.
In November, Sabourian pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, a grave offense that underscores the severity of his actions. Additionally, he admitted to one count of supplying Class A drugs, further compounding the criminal nature of his conduct. The court’s decision reflected the seriousness of these crimes, and Sabourian was sentenced to eight years in prison. Furthermore, he was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities following his release.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Michael Finan expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “I am extremely happy with the sentence passed to this dangerous individual.” He emphasized the importance of justice for victims, saying, “I hope that this case gives hope to victims who believe that they will not be listened to and that this encourages them to come forward and make their complaint.” Detective Finan also added that he hopes the sentence will provide some measure of comfort to the victim and help her to move forward with her life, highlighting the impact of the case on the community and the importance of holding offenders accountable.
