HIDYAT AMIN FROM BIRMINGHAM AND PRESTON SENT BACK TO PRISON FOR SEX OFFENSES AND REGISTER BREACHES

In a case that has garnered significant attention, Hidyat Amin, a 34-year-old man originally from Alum Rock, Birmingham, has been re-incarcerated following a series of serious legal violations. Amin, who is of Kurdish descent, was previously convicted of a disturbing offense involving bestiality, which took place at a farm in East Yorkshire. The incident involved him engaging in sexual acts with a sheep, an act that led to his being placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of seven years in 2006.

His initial conviction resulted in a six-month prison sentence. The case was particularly notable because Amin was caught through DNA evidence, which proved his involvement beyond any doubt. Investigators found his underpants and socks at the scene, along with bread crumbs used to lure the animals, which further implicated him. The farm where the incident occurred was undergoing treatment for foot rot, and the sheep involved included a ram. Witnesses reported seeing a man acting suspiciously under a full moon, lurking around the farmyard of Frank Davidson in Preston, East Yorkshire. On one occasion, the man was observed casually smoking a cigarette before driving away from the scene.

Following his release from prison, Amin expressed fears of deportation, which prompted concern among authorities. Despite these fears, he was allowed to remain in the United Kingdom. After his release, he moved to Birmingham, where he continued to live until recent events led to his latest court appearance.

On Thursday, Amin appeared before Birmingham Crown Court facing new charges. He was accused of one count of common assault and another of possessing an offensive weapon. These charges stemmed from an alleged incident outside his former partner’s residence in Birmingham. However, during the trial, the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence, and Amin was acquitted of both charges.

Nevertheless, the court found him guilty of a serious breach of the conditions set by the Sex Offenders’ Register. Specifically, he failed to notify police in advance of his plans to visit Southampton in October 2009, which was a direct violation of the strict registration requirements. These conditions mandate that registered offenders must inform authorities of their whereabouts and any planned travel. As a result, the judge sentenced Amin to eight weeks in prison for this breach.

His latest incarceration underscores the ongoing concerns about his compliance with legal obligations and the potential risk he poses. The case highlights the importance of strict monitoring and enforcement of sex offender regulations, especially for individuals with a history of such disturbing offenses. Amin’s case remains a stark reminder of the challenges faced by authorities in managing offenders and ensuring public safety.
