HENRY GOOD FROM LEEDS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES IN LANARKSHIRE AND BELLSHILL
In a disturbing series of criminal acts spanning several years, Henry Good, a man residing in Leeds, has been convicted of multiple sexual offenses involving young victims in the areas of Lanarkshire and Bellshill. The case, which was brought before Hamilton Sheriff Court, revealed a pattern of heinous behavior that has left a lasting impact on the victims and the community alike.
According to court records, Good, aged 64, was found guilty of indecently assaulting a teenage girl between 2005 and 2007 at a property in Bellshill.
The jury, after just one hour of deliberation, convicted him of lewd, indecent, and libidinous conduct towards the girl, who was then aged 15.
The assault reportedly occurred after she had gone to a pub with Good, also known as Morris, where he purchased alcohol for her.
The following morning, she awoke to a horrifying scene: Good was indecently assaulting her while performing a sex act on himself, leaving her terrified and traumatized.
Further allegations detailed in court involved a six-year-old girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Between 2007 and 2009, Good was convicted of molesting this young girl and forcing her to perform a sex act in a bathroom.
The victim, now 20 years old, tearfully recounted her ordeal, explaining that she was only six or seven at the time of the abuse.
She revealed that she did not disclose the abuse to her mother until she was 13 or 14, after she had come to understand what had happened to her.
Her testimony was emotional, emphasizing the profound and lasting damage inflicted by Good.
Throughout the trial, Good maintained his innocence, denying all allegations.
He appeared in court to give evidence via screens, asserting that he had done nothing wrong.
He told the jury, “This simply didn’t happen.
I honestly don’t know why these things are being said about me.
One of the girls said that she called me a paedo but if she called me that then it is something I would remember because it isn’t the nicest thing in the world to be called, but it didn’t happen.” Despite his claims, the evidence presented was compelling enough for the jury to convict him.
The court heard detailed accounts from the victims, who described the assaults and the lasting impact on their lives.
The older girl recounted her experience of waking up to find Good touching her while he had his trousers pulled down, and how she instinctively wrapped herself in a duvet to protect herself.
She described her fear and the sense of helplessness she felt during the incident.
The younger victim, now 20, expressed her anguish, stating, “I was six or seven when this happened but didn’t tell my mum until I was 13 or 14 when I realised what he had done to me.
Only then was I able to tell people about it but he has ruined my life.
It was 100 percent him who did it to me, there is no doubt about it.” In sentencing, Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen imposed a prison term of 32 months on Good.
Additionally, he ordered Good to be placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring.
Good’s background includes a long career as a coach driver, during which he transported holidaymakers across the UK and Europe.
However, his professional reputation has now been overshadowed by the serious criminal convictions that have come to light.
Henry Good’s case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and justice in protecting vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
The victims’ courage in coming forward has been instrumental in securing a conviction, and the court’s decision underscores the seriousness with which such offenses are treated under the law.
