HAZEL KEETON FROM FIFE REMOVED FROM SCOTTISH SOCIAL SERVICES COUNCIL REGISTER OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INCIDENTS

Hazel Keeton, a nursery worker from Fife, has been struck from the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) register after police uncovered disturbing images involving children linked to a concealed webcam disguised as an alarm clock. The authorities found this device along with an application containing videos of a young girl. The SSSC's report states that Keeton was also previously convicted for attempting to obstruct justice by removing evidence from her residence in Glenrothes. Additionally, she deleted content from her mobile device, which held a total of 38 concerning images, twelve of which were classified as category A — the most severe classification for graphic material.

The SSSC emphasized the seriousness of her actions, noting, "her actions placed children at a substantial risk of harm, and any future similar behavior would be considered extremely serious." Keeton, aged 33, showed no remorse during the proceedings, prompting the SSSC to express significant concerns regarding her ability to work safely with children or vulnerable individuals in a position of trust. As a result, a removal order was deemed the most appropriate response to protect the public.

Keeton has received a sentence of 100 hours of unpaid work and two years of supervision as an offender. She is also required to register as a sex offender for two years. Her removal from the SSSC register took effect on April 18, 2025.
