HASSAN SUBHAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT AND POSSESSION OF THOUSANDS OF INDECENT IMAGES IN NORTHAMPTON

A 24-year-old man from Northampton, Hassan Subhan, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a series of heinous crimes involving child exploitation and abuse.

The case came to light after authorities uncovered disturbing evidence of his involvement in both the sexual assault of a young girl and the possession of a vast collection of indecent images depicting children being raped and tortured.

Subhan, who was previously residing on Conyngham Road in Northampton, first attracted the attention of Northamptonshire Police in June 2022.

The police received intelligence suggesting that he might be in possession of indecent images of children, prompting an investigation by the force’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Unit (OCAIU).

During the course of their inquiry, officers executed searches of his electronic devices and discovered an alarming collection of over 5,000 indecent images of children.

Among these, 2,069 images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of abuse and exploitation.

In addition to the images, investigators uncovered first-generation videos that Subhan had personally created.

These videos depicted him sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl, a revelation that shocked the authorities and underscored the severity of his crimes.

The young victim was identified and safeguarded by the police, ensuring her protection from further harm.

Following his arrest, Subhan was formally charged with multiple offenses.

These included one count of sexual assault of a child, three counts of making indecent images of children, three counts of distributing such images, one count of possessing prohibited images, and one count of possessing extreme images.

His actions represented a grave breach of trust and a serious threat to the safety and well-being of children.

Subhan appeared before Northampton Crown Court to face justice.

On January 8, he pleaded guilty to all charges, acknowledging the full extent of his misconduct.

His case was scheduled for sentencing, and on February 28, the court handed down a significant punishment.

Subhan was sentenced to nine years in prison, with an extended license period of five years, meaning he will be under supervision for a substantial time after his release.

The sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing concern for child safety in the Northampton area.
