HARDIEEP KAHLON FROM WOLVERHAMPTON JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING TEEN PUPIL AND BOY
In a case that has shocked the Wolverhampton community, Hardeep Kahlon, a 41-year-old man from Thorneycroft Lane, Fallings Park, was sentenced to 16 months in prison after admitting to engaging in sexual activities with two underage boys. The incidents, which spanned over a period of time, involved Kahlon, a former teacher, and took place in Wolverhampton and across various locations in the country.
According to court records, Kahlon pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, just one week before his trial was scheduled to commence.
The court heard that Kahlon, who was married and a father of two, had taken the young girl on multiple trips around the country, establishing a relationship that culminated in sexual encounters.
The first of these encounters occurred just a week before the girl’s 16th birthday, and the relationship persisted beyond that point.
It was revealed that some members of the victim’s family were aware of the inappropriate relationship at the time, but it was only nearly a decade later that police were alerted.
The breakthrough came after a letter was sent to Kahlon’s old address, requesting money, which led authorities to investigate further.
Prosecutor Thomas Kenning described the emotional toll on the victim, stating that she was suffering from anxiety and depression as a result of her experiences.
She had also sought help for alcohol misuse, highlighting the lasting impact of the abuse.
During sentencing, Judge Richard Burbidge QC acknowledged that Kahlon was previously well-liked and respected by many in the community.
Despite his admissions, the judge emphasized that Kahlon would serve at least half of his 16-month sentence in custody before being eligible for release on licence.
Kahlon was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
However, the judge decided against imposing a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, citing a lack of evidence suggesting he posed a further risk to the public.
In a related case from March 2017, Kahlon admitted to having sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy.
The offences occurred between September 1, 2004, and July 31, 2005.
During the court hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Kahlon, who appeared only to confirm his name, pleaded guilty to three charges.
His defense lawyer, Mr.
David Jeremy, argued that the court should consider whether a prison sentence could be suspended, given Kahlon’s previously good character.
Kahlon was ordered to sign the Sex Offender Register and was remanded on bail until April 3 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
This case has brought to light serious concerns about the safety and well-being of young people in Wolverhampton, and the community awaits further developments as the legal process continues.
