DARLINGTON MAN JAILED FOR ATTACKS ON EX-PARTNER AND DRUGS POSSESSION
A man identified as Grant David Gowling was sentenced to six months in jail and received an indefinite restraining order following a series of assaults on his former partner.
The incident details reveal that Gowling twice attacked Nicole Winter, his ex-partner.
According to court reports, on November 29, Gowling entered Ms.
Winter's house without permission and assaulted her by grabbing her face, biting her nose, and repeatedly punching and kicking her.
The victim's mother, Diane Winter, arrived at the scene, but Gowling continued his assault.
Both women had to escape through a window to avoid further harm.
During the attack, Gowling also damaged Ms.
Winter's phone and threw a Christmas tree into a rage.
Additionally, Gowling returned on December 19 to find Ms.
Winter at her sister's house, where he forcibly pulled her to the ground and kicked her.
He handed himself into the police afterward, where officers found a Kinder Surprise egg filled with Diazepam and cannabis up his behind.
Gowling pleaded guilty to all charges, which included assault, criminal damage, and drugs possession.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for each assault, with several sentences running concurrently, along with additional weeks for other charges.
A restraining order was issued against both Diane and Nicole Winter, and Gowling was ordered to pay compensation totaling £385 and a £180 court charge.
