GRAEME GOODSIR FROM SOLIHULL SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF GIRL STARTING AT AGE SEVEN

In a case that has shocked the local community, Graeme Goodsir, a man with ties to Solihull, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses involving a young girl. The crimes span several years, beginning when the victim was only seven years old, and have left a lasting impact on her life.

Goodsir, aged 61 and residing on Alspath Road in Meriden, was found guilty of 15 separate sexual offenses at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, January 10. The charges came to light after the victim, now an adult, came forward to West Midlands Police last year, revealing the details of her traumatic experiences. Her testimony prompted a thorough investigation that ultimately led to Goodsir’s conviction.

It was disclosed during the court proceedings that Goodsir served as a member of the Meriden Parish Council for a period of 12 years, beginning in 1999. His political career, however, came to an end in 2011 when he lost his seat. He chose not to stand for election in the subsequent ballots of 2015 and 2019, effectively ending his public service career.

Following his conviction, Goodsir was sentenced to serve eight years and three months in prison. In addition to his custodial sentence, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities post-release. Furthermore, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for 15 years, aiming to prevent any further offenses and protect the community from potential harm.
