GORDON NEWMAN OF HIGH BARNS CLOSE SENTENCED IN NORTHAMPTON FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX OFFENCES

Gordon Newman, residing at High Barns Close, was involved in online activities on the social media platform Tumblr, where he engaged in chat conversations with other individuals involved in child exploitation and shared indecent images of children.

This marked his third court appearance for offenses related to indecent images of children, with previous convictions dating back to 2010.

He received a suspended sentence in 2010 and served time in prison for similar offenses in March 2017.

During a police visit to his home in November 2018, conducted to enforce his sexual harm prevention order, officers discovered his phone logged into Tumblr.

It was found that Newman had been sharing images with other online sex offenders in private sessions.

Operating under the online pseudonym 'Boundaryless' and describing himself as 'not bad but badder,' Newman had proceeded to chat with other paedophiles.

The court learned that he made comments such as 'cute' on pictures depicting child abuse.

Newman pleaded guilty to charges of distributing and making indecent images of children.

In delivering sentence, His Honour Judge Roger Tregilgas-Davey stated: 'You were talking and chatting to other paedophiles about the pictorial abuse of young children.

Clearly, this matter is so serious that only an immediate custodial sentence can be imposed.

If you commit this offence again, the sentence will only increase and the sentence will get longer and longer.' As a result, Newman was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.

Additionally, he was subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order that prohibits him from working with children or vulnerable adults.
