January 2014  Pervert jailed for 10 years for rape of child A man has been jailed for 10 years for raping a teenage girl. Glynn Ellis Battersley, 46, of Mortimer Road in Maltby, South Yorkshire, was found guilty on Friday after a week-long trial at Sheffield Crown Court. He was given concurrent sentences of 10 years for raping a child who was aged under 16 years old, 12 months for sexual assault and nine months for sexual activity with a child. South Yorkshire Police said the sentence reflected the “appalling nature of these crimes”. Det Con John Morris, who led the investigation, added: “The victim in this case has displayed an unbelievable amount of courage and resilience during this process.”
