GHEORGE PARIS AND SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENDING IN LEEDS AND LIVERPOOL
A Romanian man named Gheorge Paris, aged 33, was apprehended as part of a police operation targeting online child exploitation and was later found to have been involved in disturbing activities connected to Leeds.His arrest occurred at Liverpool John Lennon Airport after investigations revealed that he had engaged in inappropriate and illegal communication with a 13-year-old girl who was posing as Lily-Rose, a decoy created by predator hunters working with law enforcement.
The case against Paris was brought to public attention during a hearing at Leeds Crown Court, where it was disclosed that he initially began engaging in sexualized conversations with Lily-Rose in May 2021.
The girl, acting as a decoy for Predator Exposure, made it clear from the outset that she was only 13 years old.
Despite this, Paris quickly proceeded to involve himself in highly inappropriate and predatory exchanges.
According to prosecutor Bashir Ahmed, the interactions became increasingly sexualized within a short span.
Paris asked the girl if she wished to meet him privately at his home address, which he provided as part of the exchange.
Furthermore, he shared detailed personal information, including details about his car and his residence.
He also requested photographs of her naked body, advancing the conversation to a deeply concerning level.
The court was told that Paris sent explicit images and videos of himself masturbating, along with photographs of naked women.
He asked if she wanted to have sex with him, claiming he would teach her how to do so, despite her repeatedly asserting her young age as a barrier.
The online communication eventually ceased around June 22, 2021.
Members of Predator Exposure attempted to locate Paris at the address he had shared during the online chats, but he was not present at that time.
It was not until April 2 of the following year that investigators managed to arrest him, intercepting him at Liverpool John Lennon Airport during his departure.
During police interviews, Paris denied any involvement with Lily-Rose, claiming he had not engaged in any chats or sent any images.
He insisted that he was a religious person and would not engage in such conduct.
Additionally, he suggested that any claims against him could be the result of a disgruntled customer seeking revenge after purchasing a faulty vehicle from him, attempting to shift blame.
Paris's previous criminal record was also laid bare during the proceedings.
It was revealed that he had prior convictions related to sexual activity with a child while in Romania, for which he had been sentenced to prison.
These past offenses underscored the seriousness of the current charges.
In January this year, Paris pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to communicate sexually with a child and attempting to cause a child to view a sexual act during a plea, trial, and preparation hearing.
His admissions confirmed the gravity of the allegations against him.
In mitigation, defense counsel Jim Littlehales noted that Paris would be deported after serving his sentence, and emphasized that he would face removal from the UK upon completion of his imprisonment.
Her Honour Judge Penelope Belcher delivered the sentence, imposing a 22-month custodial sentence, and expressed her grave concern regarding Paris's attitudes toward sex offending.
She highlighted the pre-sentence report's findings, which indicated a high risk of reoffending and a significant potential for harm to victims.
The judge underlined the disturbing nature of these findings, emphasizing the need for ongoing supervision.
Furthermore, Paris was ordered to adhere to notification requirements as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
He was also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration, aimed at monitoring and restricting any future offending behavior.
