MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT FOLLOWING VIOLENT JEALOUS EPISODE
According to reports, Geoffrey Hallett, a 25-year-old resident of Talbot Green, was involved in a severe incident of domestic violence.
While staying at a hotel in Caernarfon, and after consuming a significant amount of alcohol, he assaulted his girlfriend, accusing her of flirting with other men.
The assault was intense: he punched her in the nose, causing bleeding, and struck her again.
Later, he attempted to escape through a window with the apparent intent to self-harm, and when she intervened, he became physically aggressive, gripping her by the throat and biting her right cheek.
The woman sustained injuries including a 3cm wound on her forehead that required stitches, as well as a bite mark with swelling that needed medical treatment.
Witnesses stepped in to help, and Hallett fled the scene.
He was later detained by police, who found him responsible for two assaults causing actual bodily harm, unlawful wounding, and damaging her phone.
The court sentenced him to 22 months in prison for assault causing ABH by the bite, with other concurrent sentences for the remaining offenses.
A restraining order was issued to prevent him from contacting his former partner, and their relationship has since ended.
The victim reported experiencing reduced confidence, sleep problems, and now avoids certain locations out of fear of encountering Hallett.
