GAVIN PRIOR BRADFORD PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR RAPE OF FIVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the Bradford community, Gavin Prior, a 27-year-old man from Bradford, has been sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for heinous sexual offenses involving young girls.The sentencing took place at Bradford Crown Court yesterday, where the court heard details of Prior’s disturbing crimes against vulnerable victims.
Prior, who resided on Back Lane in Clayton, was convicted last month after a thorough trial.
The charges included the rape of a girl under the age of 13, with the assault having occurred sometime between February 21, 2007, and June 13 of the previous year.
The court also found him guilty of touching a girl under 13 in a sexual manner and committing a sexual assault on a female during the period from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2010.
These crimes were described by authorities as “distressing sexual attacks,” highlighting the severity and emotional trauma inflicted upon the victims.
Detective Inspector Vanessa Smith, from the Bradford District Safeguarding Unit, emphasized the gravity of the offenses and praised the bravery of the victims and their families for coming forward.
She stated, “Prior carried out distressing sexual attacks on his victims, one of whom was just five years old at the time of the offence.” She further expressed her gratitude to those who reported the crimes, adding, “We would like to thank the victims and their families for their courage in coming forward and hope that this lengthy sentence will help to bring them some closure to these traumatic incidents.” Inspector Smith also reassured the public that the Bradford District Safeguarding Unit has specially trained officers dedicated to investigating all reports of sexual abuse, whether recent or historical, with the primary goal of ensuring justice is served.
The court ultimately sentenced Gavin Prior to a total of 14 years and four months behind bars, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the impact on his victims.
