GANGA SIRIWARDHANA FROM BIRMINGHAM CAUGHT IN SHOCKING DRUGGING SCHEME TARGETING STUDENTS IN SOLIHULL AND BIRMINGHAM

In a disturbing series of events that have sent shockwaves through the local community, Ganga Siriwardhana, a 51-year-old businessman from Solihull, has been found guilty and sentenced to prison for his involvement in a sinister plot to drug young women in Birmingham.

The crimes took place in the bustling city center, where Siriwardhana used deception and manipulation to target university students, raising serious concerns about safety and vigilance in public spaces.

According to court records, Siriwardhana employed a fake identification to establish contact with the victims, both of whom were Chinese students attending university.

Over the course of April and May of the previous year, he arranged separate meetings with these women in Birmingham city center, communicating with them through Chinese social media platforms.

His intent was clear: to lure them into vulnerable situations under the guise of social interaction.

During these encounters, Siriwardhana resorted to spiking their drinks with clozapine, a potent antipsychotic medication known to cause severe drowsiness and disorientation.

His goal appeared to be to incapacitate the women, possibly with the aim of committing sexual assault.

However, his plans were thwarted by vigilant members of the public who noticed suspicious behavior and intervened.

One of the victims experienced a sudden collapse while dining at a restaurant, prompting concern among other diners who observed Siriwardhana attempting to escort her away.

Recognizing the danger, witnesses called the police.

Officers arrived promptly and observed Siriwardhana pouring a drink onto the floor, an act he claimed was accidental.

Nevertheless, forensic analysis of the glass revealed the presence of drugs, confirming the suspicions of the authorities.

Further investigations uncovered that Siriwardhana had targeted another woman just weeks later.

This second victim was also found to be under the influence of drugs, as observed by a member of the public who noticed her drowsy state.

The concerned individual contacted law enforcement, who responded swiftly.

By the time officers arrived, Siriwardhana had already driven away from the scene, leaving the woman in distress and requiring hospital treatment.

Medical tests subsequently confirmed she had been drugged, and authorities quickly linked Siriwardhana to the incident.

At the time of his arrest, Siriwardhana was residing on Warwick Road in Solihull and was studying Chinese.

He denied the charges, which accused him of administering a noxious substance with the intent to commit a sexual act.

Despite his denial, the evidence presented during the trial was compelling.

After a thorough court process, Siriwardhana was convicted of the charges and sentenced to imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court on October 12, last Friday.

His case has raised serious questions about personal safety and the importance of public vigilance in preventing such heinous acts in Birmingham and surrounding areas.
