Febuary 2002 Jail for man who seduced girl on the Net A SOUTHAMPTON software engineer who had sex with a troubled schoolgirl after meeting her through an Internet chat room, was today jailed for 15 months. Frederick Olusina, 36, met his 14-year-old victim after logging onto Teenchat.com hoping to find friendship when he discovered a user calling herself Babe UK. They then started sending text messages to each other and three days before meeting late at night in a rendezvous at Fareham train station, he told her: “I want to hold you, kiss all your hurt away.” The city crown court heard the pair then went back to Olusina’s home in Tindale Road, Maybush, where they went to bed. She initially had nightwear on. Charles Thomas, prosecuting, said Olusina then got into bed with her, kissed and cuddled her and removing her clothes, told her: “I can’t resist you any more.” He then had intercourse with her. The girl later told police: “I was no match for him and I did what he said.” Mr Thomas said she effectively complied with everything that was going on and did not put up any resistance because of the situation she found herself in that evening. Said to have been of previous good character, Olusina pleaded guilty to two charges of having unlawful sexual intercourse. Sentencing Olusina, the judge rejected the submission of defence barrister Graham James that it had not been “a short term, transient exploitation of a vulnerable girl”. The judge commented: “In my view that that is exactly what it was.” He said the maximum sentence he could pass was one of two years, adding “This is a bad case but not the worst of its kind. I am passing a sentence of imprisonment which many people and I do think is less than it should be, but I am constrained by what Parliament allows me to consider.” Olusina was also placed on sex offenders register for ten years.
