LEEDS MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST CHILD
The words of the victim of Frankie Allwork reveal her perception of their relationship as something secretive and meaningful, which she was told to keep hidden.
As a child, she now understands that this wasn’t a consensual relationship but actual abuse.
Frankie Allwork, aged 27, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday, 2 March, after pleading guilty to numerous charges of sexual penetration involving a minor.
The case was brought after an investigation conducted by the Child Vulnerability Exploitation Team, which looked into offenses that happened over several months at Allwork’s home in Kentmere Avenue and at the victim’s residence.
Allwork was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of eight years.
He was also subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a restraining order, and mandated to remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Jody Bergstrom, who handled the case, commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward.
She explained that although Allwork knew the victim was underage, he continued to engage in sexual activities with her over an extended period.
The officer expressed hope that the sentencing provides the victim with closure and encourages other victims to report abuse, reassuring them that trained officers will provide ongoing support during investigations.
