FRANCIS DUNCAN FROM WREXHAM ADMITS TO POSSESSING OVER 9,800 CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES AND EXTREME MATERIALS

In a significant development at Mold Crown Court, Francis Anthony Duncan, a 59-year-old resident of Y Wern in Wrexham, has pleaded guilty to possessing a vast collection of illicit material related to child exploitation and extreme sexual content. The charges against Duncan include the possession of more than 9,800 images and 684 videos depicting child sex abuse, a disturbing cache that highlights the severity of his offenses.

During the court proceedings, Duncan admitted to 20 separate charges of creating indecent images by downloading them from the internet. These images ranged across a spectrum of severity, from the least serious Level One to the most serious Level Five, indicating a wide variety of explicit content. The court also heard that Duncan possessed extreme images involving sexual acts between women and animals, with two charges specifically relating to this disturbing material.

The police seized all the images and videos in question between December 2007 and September 2011, during their investigation into Duncan’s activities. The timeline suggests a prolonged period during which Duncan maintained possession of these illegal materials, raising concerns about the extent of his involvement in such activities.

Judge Niclas Parry, presiding over the case, ordered Duncan to register as a sex offender with the police, a standard legal requirement for individuals convicted of such offenses. Duncan’s sentencing is scheduled to take place in three weeks, at which point the court will determine the appropriate punishment for his actions.
