October 2012 Man guilty of indecent assault on teenager A FAN of the TV series The X-Files who changed his name to Mark Fox-Mulder has been convicted of indecent assault. Fox-Mulder, formerly Mark Palmer, admitted abusing a teenage boy in the late 1990s. The 49-year-old, who changed his name in tribute to the American sci-fi drama, starring David Duchovny as Fox Mulder, molested the boy in Portsmouth. His victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, went to the police more than 10 years on after watching a documentary about child abuse, Portsmouth Crown Court heard. Fox-Mulder, of Hilsea, Portsmouth, was given a 26-week prison sentence suspended for two years. He will have sex offender treatment and supervision from the probation service for two years. Fox-Mulder will be on the sex offenders’ register and is banned from working with children. He was told to pay £200 in court costs.
