TEACHER ADMITS TO BRUTAL MURDER AND BURIED HER PARTNER IN THE GARDEN
Fiona Beal, who works as a teacher, has admitted to killing her partner, Nicholas Billingham. The court was told that she kept a diary that revealed her darker intentions, including detailed descriptions of her actions.
She confessed to luring Mr Billingham, age 42, into their Northampton home in 2021 before stabbing him in the neck, which resulted in his death.
Beal is expected to serve a life sentence by law due to the nature of her crime, which was carried out with clear planning.
Her diary indicated that she had prepared for the murder weeks ahead, purchasing a knife and falsifying a positive Covid-19 test result to avoid detection.
She also wrote about her deteriorating mental state, expressing remorse and regret over her actions.
Her mummified body was found by police in a grave she had dug in the garden, wrapped in different materials.
After the killing, she continued her usual daily activities and even invited her partner’s mother over for Christmas, close to where the body was buried.
Police found her injured in a bath during welfare checks, with unsettling music playing from her phone and a diary outlining her mental health struggles and guilt.
Her meticulous documentation included plans for disposing of the body and purchasing cleaning products.
The court was told that Beal acted with significant control and premeditation, executing what authorities described as a 'chilling domestic execution.'
