A man convicted of attacking a woman near a city-centre underpass has received a 13-year prison sentence.
Farirai Shereni, aged 26, was convicted in September of raping a woman who was on her way to work in Birmingham.
According to police, he sought help when he encountered her in the Dale End area at approximately 04:30 GMT in 2018.
Subsequently, he coerced her towards an underpass located on Bull Street.
Shereni was earlier sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court for offenses of rape and sexual assault.
In addition to his prison term, he will serve an extra five years on licence and be registered as a sex offender for life, following an evaluation that designated him as a "dangerous" offender.
