EMMA STEVENS AND NATHAN CLARKE BUSTED IN MIDDLESBROUGH CHILD SEX OFFENCES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Middlesbrough community, a young woman and a man from North Yorkshire have been linked to serious allegations of child sexual offences.Emma Jane Stevens, aged 23 and residing on Grisedale Crescent in Eston, has admitted to multiple charges involving the exploitation of a very young child.
The offences, which took place in 2017 within the Middlesbrough area, include causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity through physical contact.
Additionally, Stevens pleaded guilty to two further counts of causing a child to participate in sexual acts, highlighting the severity of her involvement in this case.
Furthermore, Stevens confessed to taking 17 indecent photographs of a child, a crime that underscores the disturbing nature of her actions.
She also admitted to distributing four of these illicit images, which raises serious concerns about the extent of her misconduct.
Prior to these allegations, Stevens had no known criminal record, making her case even more alarming for the local community and law enforcement authorities.
Alongside Stevens in court was Nathan Clarke, a 29-year-old man from Keighley, North Yorkshire, who was also implicated in the case.
Clarke, who resides on Cavendish Street, previously entered a guilty plea to four charges at Teesside Magistrates’ Court.
His admissions include causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, as well as possessing a total of 67 indecent images of children stored across two mobile phones and a laptop.
The full details of the case have yet to be fully disclosed in court, but the gravity of the allegations is clear.
Judge Howard Crowson addressed both defendants during the hearing, emphasizing the seriousness of their crimes.
He granted bail to both Stevens and Clarke until their sentencing scheduled for August 6.
The judge made it clear that prison time is highly probable, if not certain, given the nature of the offences.
He also warned them about the legal obligation to register as sex offenders, a requirement that involves providing personal information to police authorities.
Failure to comply with this registration is a criminal offence that can result in additional imprisonment, underscoring the long-term consequences these individuals face as they await sentencing.
