LEEDS WOMAN JAILED FOR POSTING SEXUAL IMAGES OF FATHER'S EX-LOVER
A 24-year-old woman was sentenced to three years in prison after she shared explicit images of her father’s former partner on an escort website, with a judge condemning her actions as “vindictive, selfish and vengeful.” Eleanor Brown’s resentment towards the victim stemmed from her father’s brief affair with her in 2012, a Leeds crown court was told.Judge Menary criticized Brown’s attitude post-arrest, describing her as “utterly, utterly unapologetic,” “completely lacking any moral compass,” and noting her “stunning absence of remorse.” The court explained that Brown’s father, Geoff, had an affair with a woman who was also a police officer, which ended, leaving both spouses.
About a decade later, Brown observed the woman’s husband starting a business and began posting derogatory comments on his Facebook page, calling his wife offensive names.
Subsequently, she sent the husband sexually explicit images of his wife and fabricated a “kinky copper” profile on an adult escort and sex service site, which included private photographs.
Judge Menary highlighted that a particularly egregious aspect was Brown’s attempt to contact the woman’s daughter, who was unaware of the affair.
Brown told her, “I will make sure your mum is never allowed to forget,” and added, “Wherever she goes, her photos will follow her,” indicating her intent to cause lasting distress.
The prosecution revealed Brown conspired with her mother, Sarah, and sister, Sophie—both former police officers—to create the fake profile.
The website displayed the husband’s phone number, which was subsequently flooded with messages and calls.
During court proceedings, a victim impact statement was read, in which the woman described feeling “violated,” asserting that it was an “understatement.” She expressed being “sickened” that her images were publicly posted and shared for strangers’ sexual pleasure.
She further stated she found it “hard to believe a woman would do this to another woman,” and expressed fears about Brown’s potential actions.
Defense lawyer Harry Crowson claimed Brown was influenced by her family, stating she was “egged on” by them and that she was profoundly traumatised by the 2012 incident when she viewed the images as a teenager, for reasons never fully explained.
Brown, residing in Morley, Leeds, pleaded guilty during her trial to two counts of disclosing private images, after the victim and her husband had already testified.
Judge Menary described her final act of posting the images as “the ultimate act of brinkmanship” and a significant aggravating factor, resulting in no credit being given for her pleas.
