EDWARD ALLANACH LEEDS SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR VIOLENT RAPE IN HORSHORTH
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Leeds, Edward Allanach, a known sex offender, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years following his conviction for a brutal and violent rape that took place in his flat located in Horsforth. The incident occurred in May of the previous year, during which Allanach subjected a young woman to a prolonged and humiliating assault that left her with serious facial injuries.
The court heard that the attack was not only physically violent but also psychologically traumatic for the victim, who endured repeated slaps across her face and was forcibly subjected to sexual assault.
At the time of the attack, Allanach was already under a community order due to a prior sexual assault incident involving a woman in a Leeds pub.
Despite this, he committed the heinous act in his own flat, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the restrictions placed upon him.
During the trial at Leeds Crown Court, jurors were informed of the severity of the assault.
The prosecution detailed how Allanach’s violence escalated as he slapped the woman multiple times and even forced his fingers down her throat, actions that caused her to fear for her life.
The victim was left with a black eye and extensive bruising, evidence of the brutality she endured before Allanach proceeded to rape her.
The court also heard that Allanach had previously breached a sex offender order issued in December 2019 by failing to notify police of a change of address, further illustrating his ongoing disregard for legal restrictions.
Prosecutor Richard Woolfall emphasized that Allanach’s actions extended beyond the assault, as he was involved in a dangerous police chase across Leeds in an uninsured vehicle, adding to the severity of his criminal behavior.
Following a trial, Allanach was found guilty of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He also pleaded guilty to additional charges including dangerous driving, two counts of failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements, as well as driving without a license and insurance.
The court’s decision reflects the gravity of his offenses and the threat he posed to the community of Leeds.
