DYLAN SCOTT'S VIOLENT CRIME SPREE IN DUNDEE AND BEYOND: A TALE OF ABUSE AND TERROR
A man identified as Dylan Scott has been accused of subjecting his partner to a brutal and sustained campaign of abuse that spanned over a year and involved multiple locations across Scotland and England. The disturbing series of events included physical violence, verbal assaults, and threats of further harm, with the victim enduring a harrowing ordeal that culminated in her hospitalization.According to court reports, the abuse began in Dundee and extended to various other sites, including a notable incident at the luxurious Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022, Scott and his partner traveled to Glasgow, where they checked into the five-star hotel. The evening started with a meal and drinks, but things quickly took a dark turn. Scott, who was reportedly intoxicated, began shouting at his partner about other people, displaying signs of anger and aggression. The situation escalated when he smashed a television in their hotel room and spat on her, further humiliating and intimidating her.
Over the following months, the abuse persisted and intensified. The court heard that Scott physically assaulted his partner on multiple occasions, including dragging her by her hair, throwing her out of their residence, and making threats to set her home on fire. One particularly distressing incident involved Scott pinning her against a wall by her neck and striking her with her own mobile phone. During this period, she was also assaulted with cans of baked beans, which Scott threw at her face and hair, causing her further injury and distress.
The victim’s suffering was compounded by incidents at various locations, including a ferry trip to Amsterdam. During this journey, Scott called her “fat and disgusting” and forcibly ejected her from their cabin, leaving her to sleep outside. Security personnel had to intervene to protect her, and she returned to Scotland on the first available ferry, while Scott was compelled to fly back alone. The court revealed that Scott’s abusive behavior was not confined to Scotland; it also took place at a music festival in Manchester and during a ferry crossing from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Additionally, there were reports of abuse occurring at Perth Prison, indicating a pattern of controlling and violent behavior that persisted even when Scott was incarcerated.
Despite his arrest and detention, Scott continued to exert influence over his partner from behind bars. He allegedly attempted to coerce her into withdrawing her complaint, demonstrating a continued pattern of intimidation and control. The court was informed that Scott, aged 28 and from Dundee, admitted to engaging in a course of abusive conduct towards his partner from November 1, 2021, to January 22, 2023. His actions included physical assaults, verbal abuse, and threats across multiple locations, illustrating a prolonged and systematic campaign of violence and harassment.
