DUNCAN MORRIS FROM PRESTON JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS IN LANCASTER AREA
In a case that has shocked the local community, Duncan Morris, a 21-year-old man from Woodfield at Clayton Brook near Preston, was sentenced to a prison term of three years and two months after admitting to the sexual abuse of four young girls. The incident, which took place in Lancashire, was brought to light during a court hearing at Preston Crown Court on a recent Monday.During the proceedings, Morris pleaded guilty to eight separate charges of indecent assault. The victims included three girls, all aged eight, and one girl aged ten. The court was informed that Morris engaged in manipulative behavior, playing games with his young victims before subjecting them to sexual acts. The nature of his interactions and the subsequent abuse caused significant distress to the victims and their families.
The investigation into the allegations was initiated after police received reports of the abuse. As part of their inquiry, law enforcement officers seized Morris’s computer, which was found to contain indecent photographs and images. These materials further implicated him in the misconduct and provided crucial evidence for the case.
Keith Thomas QC, representing Morris, addressed the court, highlighting the personal consequences faced by the defendant since the allegations surfaced. He stated that Morris had lost his employment, his residence, and his reputation as a result of the accusations. The defense also noted that Morris had entered a guilty plea to prevent the victims from having to testify in court, a decision that was seen as an attempt to mitigate the trauma experienced by the young girls.
Judge Pamela Bradley, presiding over the case, emphasized the severity of the crimes committed. She remarked that the offences were so grave that only a custodial sentence could be justified. Consequently, she sentenced Morris to a term of three years and two months in prison, along with an order for him to register as a sex offender for life. The ruling underscored the court’s stance on protecting vulnerable children and punishing those who exploit them in the Lancashire region.
