DRAGOS HENTER FROM KELTY SENTENCED FOR VIOLENT ATTACKS AND DOMESTIC ABUSE IN PERTH
Dragos Henter, a man from Kelty, has been formally sentenced for a series of violent and threatening actions directed against his former partner, Alison Bruce. The case revealed a disturbing pattern of controlling and aggressive behavior that spanned over four years of their tumultuous relationship. During this period, Henter made explicit threats to physically disfigure Bruce, including a chilling promise to cut her face to make her resemble 'The Joker'.The severity of his violence was demonstrated during an incident in a restaurant, where Henter pinned Bruce down at knifepoint on the floor. This act was part of a broader pattern of intimidation and assault, which included multiple episodes of physical violence. The court heard that Henter’s actions were driven by jealousy and possessiveness, often leading him to monitor her movements and react with hostility to perceived slights or betrayals.
Henter was sentenced to 32 months in prison for the attack in the restaurant. However, his legal troubles did not end there. While incarcerated in Perth Prison, he was found in possession of three illicit SIM cards, which are banned items within the prison system. This discovery prompted an additional 163 days to be added to his sentence. Fiscal depute Lora Apostolova confirmed that Henter admitted to possessing these illegal items when his cell was searched.
At Perth Sheriff Court, it was also disclosed that once Henter completes his sentence in Scotland, he could face deportation back to Romania. His criminal record includes multiple assaults on Alison Bruce, which resulted in serious injuries such as a broken rib and a perforated eardrum. These incidents underscore the dangerous nature of his conduct and the threat he poses to women.
Sheriff Carmichael addressed the court directly, stating: "You are assessed as posing a danger. The charges represent a course of conduct of domestic abuse by you. This abuse included several assaults, punching and striking her on the head, seizing her by the hair, holding a knife against her stomach and threatening to stab her and slash her face." The court’s findings highlight the pattern of violence and intimidation that characterized Henter’s relationship with Bruce, marked by jealousy, aggression, and physical harm.
