LEEDS SEX OFFENDER DOMENYK HARGREAVES JAILED FOR GROOMING SCHOOLGIRLS IN LEEDS
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Leeds community, Domenyk Hargreaves, an Asda employee residing in Leeds, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in a series of heinous acts involving the grooming and sexual exploitation of minors.Hargreaves appeared before Leeds Crown Court to face multiple serious charges, including eight counts of inciting a child under the age of 13 to perform a sexual act, one count of attempting to meet a child under 13 following sexual grooming, and another count of attempting to meet a minor under 16 for sexual activity.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of his predatory behavior and the danger he posed to vulnerable children.
The court was informed that the criminal conduct began in February of this year when Hargreaves initiated contact with a decoy operated by the online child protection team known as the ‘Hunted One’.
He believed he was communicating with a 12-year-old girl, and his conversations quickly turned sexual in nature.
Explicit messages were exchanged, with Hargreaves encouraging the decoy to engage in self-pleasure and even to involve her friend in the activities.
Over a period of four months, Hargreaves maintained contact, exchanging hundreds of messages with the decoy.
His intent was clear, and he eventually arranged to meet the girl in person.
However, upon arriving at the designated meeting point, he was met by the ‘Hunted One’ who immediately called the police.
Law enforcement officers swiftly arrested him, bringing his disturbing online activities to an abrupt halt.
Despite being on bail, Hargreaves did not cease his attempts to find and groom young girls online.
He was caught again attempting to engage with a 14-year-old girl for sexual purposes.
During the court proceedings, Hargreaves admitted to having previously groomed numerous real children through online platforms, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned multiple instances.
The judge sentenced Hargreaves to 28 months in prison, emphasizing the severity of his actions and the threat he posed to children.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure intended to protect the community and monitor his activities moving forward.
